Position Overview

As a Community Outreach Assistant, you will help plan, coordinate, and execute outreach initiatives designed to raise awareness, encourage participation, and support nonprofit missions. This role provides direct experience in community engagement, event support, and relationship-building while developing valuable skills in marketing, communications, and nonprofit operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and coordinating community outreach events
  • Engage with the public to promote programs and initiatives
  • Serve as a point of contact for community members, answering questions and providing information
  • Support the team in distributing promotional materials and educational resources
  • Track participation, engagement, and campaign results
  • Gather community feedback to enhance future outreach efforts
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure successful program execution
  • Participate in training sessions to stay informed on organizational goals and initiatives

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic about community service and nonprofit work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Experience in volunteering, customer service, or event coordination is a plus but not required
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally for events
